32.6 Offres et invitations

Si les verbes décrivent des offres et invitations, il faut utiliser Les verbes de modalité présentés dans le tableau ci-dessous. En général, l' offre ou l' invitation se fait sous forme de question ou avec une phrase négative.

I would like to offer you some more tea if I might.

Shan't I take the heavy bag?
  can* Can I help you with the shopping?
Can't we be of any help for you?
  could* Could I give you a hand with this?
Couldn't we do anything to solve this?
  may* May I offer you a drink? May we help you with these bags?

En général, on utilise ces verbes si celui qui parle offre quelque chose, c´est-à-dire dans le cas où le sujet est 'I' ou 'we'.

S' il n' y a pas un verbe auxiliaire de mode, c' est plus comun d' exprimer un offre ou une proposition sous forme de question.
